Upcoming Events: December Working Well webinars

Throughout the month of December, Working Well is offering a variety of webinars focusing on how to create environments supportive of physical activity for employees during the workday, how to use WorkHealthy America to complete assessments relating to tobacco, physical activity and nutrition, and how to go tobacco free in 2012!

Thursday, December 1 (2-3 PM): Building an Environment that Supports Physically Active Employees

Creating physical activity friendly policies will do little to change behavior if employees have limited access to the space or facilities needed to be active.  This webinar will discuss how to create a worksite environment that supports physically active employees, by providing access during and beyond work hours, encouraging alternative commuting options, and providing accommodations for employees with special needs.  Click here to participate in this final webinar in our physical activity series.

Monday, December 5 (2-3 PM): Getting Started with Working Well, using WorkHealthy America

Join us for a special training event for SC hospitals getting started with Working Well.  Learn about the exciting resources provided for you through the Working Well initiative, and get started with your WorkHealthy America account. Be ready to log in, add team members, and start an assessment!  Click here to participate in this webinar.

Wednesday, December 7 (1:30 – 2:30 PM): Preparing to Go Tobacco-Free

One way to encourage people to quit using tobacco is to make hospital worksites 100% tobacco-free campus wide.  Whether you’re actively planning to go-tobacco free in 2012 or are considering making this important change to support your employees and patients, join this webinar to learn more about key steps to ensure successful implementation of such a policy.  Melva Fager Okun will discuss her experiences working with North Carolina hospitals as they have gone tobacco-free campus wide, and Susan Johnson, PhD, will share how the Medical University of South Carolina is preparing to go tobacco-free in March 2012.  Click here to participate in this webinar.
