Trident, MUSC to lose about $22.1 million via state Medicaid cuts

State Medicaid cuts will leave two Lowcountry hospitals short more than $20 million in reimbursements during the next fiscal year.

Trident Health System estimates it won’t receive $2.1 million in Medicaid payments from the state, and the Medical University of South Carolina says it won’t receive $20 million. During fiscal 2010, Trident received $21 million in state Medicaid reimbursements, and MUSC received $175.8 million.
