What Are You Doing for National Stroke Awareness Month?

May is National Stroke Awareness Month, and we need your help educating the community on the signs and symptoms of stroke and the importance of calling EMS.

“SPOT A STROKE FAST” and www.facearmspeechtime.com is a joint community stroke awareness campaign by the South Carolina Hospital Association and the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC).

This website provides excellent information about how to identify a stroke, relevant South Carolina stroke statistics, and first-hand stories from stroke survivors around the state told through professional videos.

To assist in promoting this information, a SPOT A STROKE FAST Toolkit is available that will provide your workplace with all the necessary videos, links, and campaign information you need to support and promote this campaign.

Visit www.facearmspeechtime.com to learn more and help spread the word to make sure all citizens in South Carolina know how to SPOT A STROKE FAST! Contact Kyle Petersen, at kpetersen@scha.org,  if you have any questions.
