Mayor's Bike and Walk Summit | May 4-5 | Columbia, SC

For two days at this statewide conference, hundreds of transportation professionals, elected officials, community leaders, Main Street officials, school district officers, principals, law enforcement officers, and bike and walk enthusiasts from around SC will meet in Columbia. 

Learn about what makes our state more bike-able, walk-able and livable. Network with leaders and learn about how to make our communities, neighborhoods, towns, cities and state healthier, more livable and more accessible. More information can be found here

2nd Annual Population Health Summit | June 14 | 9:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

The Summit aims to convene grassroots community leaders and organizations that can have an impact on population health for the purpose of streamlining efforts to make a Healthier SC for all. SC AHEC's SCHOOLS will host nine simultaneous meetings in different regions throughout the state. The nine locations are: Beaufort, Charleston, Columbia, Easley, Florence, Georgetown, Greenville, Rock Hill, and Walterboro. Registration information to follow. Leadership summit for healthier communities | October 23-24

Save the date for the Leadership Summit for Healthier Communities, formerly known as the SC Obesity Summit. The Leadership Summit for Healthy Communities is the only statewide conference that focuses on healthy eating and active living. Over the past 14 years, the Summit has grown in attendance as content specialists in obesity prevention, healthy eating, and active living strategies meet with community partners who are working on local solutions. Participants who attend represent various sectors including health, education, faith, local government and nonprofits.

7th Annual Working Well Fall Meeting | November 1 | 9 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Save the date for the 7th Annual Working Well Fall Meeting! This exciting, day-long training brings together our entire cohort of Working Well hospitals, businesses, municipalities, institutions of higher education, and state agencies to network and share best practices and challenges in employee wellbeing and workplace health promotion. The meeting will feature speakers from across the state to share best practices and implementation strategies. The meeting will also include a fitness break and a heart healthy lunch. The training is free to all Working Well members and is $25 for nonmembers. More information, including session topics and speakers, will be released as the date approaches.
