LiveWell Greenville Healthy Workplace Seminar | May 4 | 1:30–6 p.m | TD Convention Center, Greenville, SC

LiveWell Greenville will be hosting its 4th Annual Healthy Workplace Seminar on May 4 from 1:30-6 p.m. at the TD Convention Center in Greenville, SC. The seminar is for wellness and human resources professionals in the Upstate. The theme of the event is “Optimizing Human Capital” and it will focus on providing practical resources to create a healthier workplace culture that can be implemented with little to no cost. The seminar will include a series of educational sessions, followed by a cocktail reception and awards presentation for the 2016 Healthy Workplace Award winners. The educational sessions include:

• Creative Nutrition Programs
• Financial Wellness
• Community Service and Philanthropy
• Generational Matters
• Healthy Behavior Styles in the Workplace
• Building & Strengthening a Holistic Work Culture

The cocktail reception will include light hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar. Registration is $30 and is required for this event.

PEBA Tools and Resources to Enhance your Wellness Strategy | May 12 | 3-4 p.m. | Working Well Webinar

Working Well is hosting a webinar for all of our worksites on the State Health Plan. We have invited our colleagues at the Public Employee Benefit Authority (PEBA) to present on some very exciting new tools and resources to assist you in your employee wellness efforts including the following:

• Annual Employer Report Card which shows a breakdown of employee demographics, health status, chronic condition prevalence, and preventive screening rates among your employee population.
• PEBA Perks including adult vaccines, preventive screenings, diabetes education, tobacco cessation, and more that are available for free to SHP members.
• PEBA Health Hub, an online portal with a library of health messages and turnkey marketing materials to use at your worksite.

Save the Date: Annual SC Obesity Summit | October 24 | Columbia, SC

Save the date for Eat Smart, Move More South Carolina’s 13th Annual Obesity Summit. This year, the theme of the Summit is Going the Distance: Achieving HEALth Equity Together. Last year, more than 260 public health, health care, education, and other healthy eating, active living professionals attended the Summit to learn about obesity prevention efforts and resources that have a positive effect in their communities. This year, we’re expecting close to 300 professionals throughout South Carolina to attend the event. Look out for more information on coming soon.
