What does a healthy food environment look like at work? LiveWell Greenville invites you to attend this forum to learn how to improve your workplace food environment through implementing a healthy food policy and other low-to-no cost initiatives. Attendees will learn from experts in the field about various resources and tools for making policy and environmental changes that support healthy eating in the workplace. The forum includes a panel discussion on worksite nutrition policies for vending, cafeterias, canteens and catered meals.

Leadership Summit for Healthy Communities | October 29 | The Florence Center

EatSmart MoveMore SC’s Annual Leadership Summit for Healthy Communities is October 29 in Florence, SC. Hundreds of healthy eating and active living specialists and policy leaders from across South Carolina gather at the Leadership Summit for Healthy Communities to improve the lives and health of all SC residents. It’s the only statewide conference that unites healthy eating and active living specialists with decision makers from across the state. Through best practices and information exchange, we’re building South Carolina’s leaders in rural and urban areas to improve health outcomes by inspiring action.

This event provides networking opportunities with community partners and local decisionmakers and promotes successful, evidence-based healthy eating and active living initiatives. We are driven by a desire to create communities where everyone has access to healthy, affordable foods and safe places to be active. This happens through initiatives and policies that create lasting changes where people live, learn, work, play and pray.

Save the Date: Working Well Fall Meeting | November 14 | The South Carolina Hospital Association

Save the date for Working Well’s Annual Fall Meeting on November 14 at SCHA’s William L. Yates Conference Center in Columbia, SC. This exciting, day-long training brings together our entire Working Well membership, including organizations of all sizes and sectors, to network and share successes and challenges in workplace wellbeing. The meeting will feature speakers from across the state to share best practices, case studies and implementation strategies. The meeting will also include a fitness break and a heart-healthy lunch.

The training is free to all Working Well members and is $25 for nonmembers. More information, including session topics and speakers, will be released as the date approaches.

2020 Art & Science of Health Promotion Conference | April 20-24 | Hilton Head Island, SC

Registration is now open for the 30th Annual Art & Science of Health Promotion Conference. The theme is “Integrating Health Promotion into the Organization’s and Community’s Core Values.” This may be THE most important strategy to engage and retain leadership support and facilitate organization restructuring, policy focus and resource allocation necessary to improve employee health, control medical costs and enhance productivity. Conference sessions will explore how to weave this strategy into the multiple other priorities of effective program planning and delivery.
