Self Regional Healthcare Receives Gold Medal Award
GREENWOOD, SC – Self Regional Healthcare was recognized by the South Carolina Hospital Association’s (SCHA) Working Well initiative and Prevention Partners for achieving the Gold Medal award. The Gold Medal is awarded for providing and promoting access to physical activity opportunities for employees during work hours and represents the highest standard of physical activity excellence at the workplace.
Self Regional Healthcare has a policy allowing paid break time and flexible hours for employees to be physically active at work. They also provide access to exercise facilities at or near the worksite, education and communication with employees about the importance of physical activity, and motivation to engage in physical activity in addition to benefits and incentives to encourage activity such as gym discounts. These are among several evidence-based components recommended by Working Well and Prevention Partners to become a physically active worksite.

Prevention Partners works with the SCHA’s Working Well initiative to engage corporate leaders and staff throughout SC to enhance and sustain employee wellness efforts. These efforts are generously funded through the Duke Endowment.
