SCHA TO PRESENT AT HERO FORUM19
The South Carolina Hospital Association is pleased to announce that Dr. Rick Foster, Executive Director of the Alliance for a Healthier SC, Jen Wright, Working Well Program Director, and Emily O’Sullivan, Working Well Program Manager, will present at HEROForum19 in Portland, OR. An annual event hosted by the Health Enhancement Research Organization (HERO), the Forum brings together health and wellbeing professionals to network, share knowledge and learn from top experts in the industry.
The focus of HERO Forum19, scheduled to take place Sept. 9-12, is “Thriving Organizations: Achieving Well-Being Through Collaboration.” Dr. Foster will speak on a panel during the Healthcare Summit which precedes the forum. This year’s Summit theme is “Healthcare Leadership in Addressing Social Determinants of Health.”
Jen Wright will present with SC State Representatives Neill Collins and Laurie Slade Funderburk, OK State Representative Jason Dunnington, and MN State Representative Mary Franson on “Crossing Aisles and State Lines, Lawmakers Unite in Wellbeing.” Emily O’Sullivan will present with Susan Johnson, Director of Health Promotion at MUSC, and Sydney Tomlinson, Health Improvement Initiatives Specialist with the Oklahoma Hospital Association, on “Harnessing the Power of Collective Efficacy to Catalyze Workplace Wellbeing.” The audience will be employers, employee health and well-being providers, wellness industry professional organizations and research experts.
“HERO Forum attracts some of the best and brightest minds in population health, workplace trends and the science of behavior change,” said Karen Moseley, president of HERO. “This year’s lineup of presenters will focus on the importance of collaboration within organizations, between disciplines and across industry sectors, while also addressing how this contributes to employee well-being and the ability to build thriving organizations.”
