Register for the Working Well Has Heart Challenge

This year, Working Well is teaming up with the American Heart Association to challenge employers to participate in the 20th Annual Midlands Heart Walk. The Midlands Heart Walk will be held Saturday, March 24, 2018 at the Colonial Life Arena in Columbia.

The American Heart Association's mission is to build healthier lives, free of cardiovascular disease and stroke. The Heart Walk is their mission in action. Join more than 5,000 walkers in the Midlands to promote physical activity and heart-healthy living all while raising critical funds for their lifesaving mission.

The new Working Well Has Heart: Worksite Walk Challenge engages employers in two ways:

  1. See which worksite can raise the most money through different heart-healthy activities in the workplace. Every dollar raised for the Midlands Heart Walk goes back into the community by supporting regional research projects and local mission-related programs and operations. Some mission related-programs include Check. Change. Control.; Simple Cooking with Heart; and CPR education and training.
  2. Working Well challenges employers to see which worksite can have the most employees participate in the Midlands Heart Walk. Recognition will be based on the percent of participating employees.

By participating in the Working Well Has Heart: Worksite Walk Challenge, you will have access to American Heart Association representatives, free promotional materials, and help strategizing creative ways to promote the Midlands Heart Walk at your worksite.

To register for the Working Well Has Heart: Worksite Walk Challenge, email Sara Grace Bailey at sbailey@scha.org. After registering, you will receive the Midlands Heart Walk Coach Guide to get started.
