The Management Academy Comes to Columbia

For their second session, the class of the 2011 Management Academy gathered in Columbia last week for a glimpse of how politics influences health care.

The group met at the Capital City Club for an overview of the legislative process, update on federal health reform, and to participate in a mock legislative briefing with the SCHA advocacy team. Before learning about the process, Representative Kris Crawford, SC House District 63, spoke to the group about how health care is affected by the decisions made in Columbia and urged them to get more involved in the political process. The session was capped off with an energetic session with Jeffrey Black of Black Sheep Reputations who shared how to prepare effective, strategic presentations and communications for leaders.
