Texas Hospital Association and SCHA Solutions Partner to Provide Member Hospitals Access to Healthcare Staffing Services

The Texas Hospital Association is partnering with SCHA Solutions to provide their 474 member hospitals access to Healthcare Staffing Services (HSS). HSS is a nationally recognized Managed Service Provider in the healthcare industry that specializes in supplemental staffing and was developed by hospitals, for hospitals.

HSS partners with more than 100 national, regional and local staffing agencies to provide access to qualified, credentialed healthcare professionals. The program’s streamlined processes and vendor-neutral approach brings increased performance standards and creates more opportunities to identify and select staff. All clinical staffing agency partners are certified by the Joint Commission. Healthcare Staffing Services provides:

One vendor-neutral contract
No hiring fees after one contract
All-inclusive competitive rates
No minimum assignment length
Regular vendor compliance reviews
Free web-based software to post jobs and recruit candidates
Access to clinical and non-clinical staff
Dedicated account manager

One long-time customer praised HSS for its responsiveness and customer service.

“Though we have been partners with the Healthcare Staffing Services for many years, we had managed to cover our needs independently for about the last eight years. Over the last year, our census consistently exceeded all of our forecasts, and staffing for this surge capacity became very difficult. When we needed help, Healthcare Staffing Services was there for us every step of the way. They quickly helped us get started again by manually processing our needs and then helped us obtain new vendor management software which made this process even more efficient. The people we depend on are always just an email or phone call away,” said Damon Mays, Executive Director of Staffing and Patient Flow, West Tennessee Healthcare.

A recent survey of hospital leaders ranked personnel shortages among the top issues facing hospitals today, and the trend is expected to continue. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics expects double-digit increases in healthcare employment by 2024. By providing access to staffing agencies nationwide, HSS can help hospitals significantly expand their recruiting territory.

HSS has been working with healthcare employers to help meet their workforce needs for more than 15 years. The program now spans across 13 states as an endorsed partner through each state’s respective hospital association.  THA’s endorsement follows a thorough due diligence analysis that establishes its HSS as a key partner. THA’s for-profit subsidiary, HealthShare, markets the partnership to its member hospital human resource directors throughout the state.

“Texas is a growing state, which puts ever-increasing demands on our hospitals and the healthcare professionals who sustain them. At the same time, competition for health care employees strains our facilities and carries significant transactional costs,” said Lance Lunsford, THA chief marketing/business development officer and HealthSHARE president/CEO. “Our partnership with HSS is rooted in THA’s commitment to identifying valuable partnerships that help our hospitals fulfill their missions to provide the best care in the most cost-effective ways possible.”

Healthcare Staffing Services is open to all THA members at no cost and offers a user-friendly, web-based software for posting, credentialing, timekeeping and invoicing. Every participant is able to tailor the program to their specific workforce needs. HSS is committed to quality, service, and value. “The THA endorsement represents the gold standard of review. A THA-endorsed company has demonstrated its commitment to providing the highest possible value and supporting our hospitals in their work to decrease costs and improve efficiencies and quality of care. We are pleased to bestow the THA endorsement on the HSS team and their operations and look forward to a productive partnership,” Ted Shaw, President/CEO of the Texas Hospital Association.

Both THA HealthSHARE and SCHA Solutions are subsidiaries of their respective state hospital associations (Texas Hospital Association and South Carolina Hospital Association) that connect hospitals with preferred providers of business services to help hospitals reduce operating costs, manage their workforce needs more efficiently and much more.
