The South Carolina Hospital Association, along with other national, state and community organizations, is leading a massive effort to highlight the importance of advance healthcare decision-making—an effort that has culminated in the formal designation of April 16 as National Healthcare Decisions Day (NHDD). In South Carolina, it's also a state-level event that is celebrated all week (April 16-21).
SCHA is asking all interested organizations and individuals throughout the state to help raise awareness about the importance of advance care planning on this special day—and throughout the year. To help realize this goal and support these efforts, please let us know what events you have going on during the week so that we can promote them via our newsletter and social media outlets by emailing us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you're looking for information and tools for the public to talk about future healthcare decisions and execute written advance directives (healthcare power of attorney and living wills) in accordance with applicable state laws, go to our advance care planning page here.
