South Carolina Hospitals Win Premier Inc. Awards for Reducing Hospital-acquired Conditions and Readmissions
Five hospitals from around the state were awarded Premier Inc. HIIN Awards for their success in reducing hospital-acquired conditions and readmissions: Mary Black Health System – Gaffney, Self Regional Healthcare, Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital, Tidelands Waccamaw Community Hospital and Conway Medical Center.
Each hospital was eligible for the award thanks to their participation in the federal Partnership for Patients (PfP) Hospital Engagement Network 2.0 initiative. As part of the more than 450 hospitals in 40 states in the Premier HIIN (Hospital Improvement and Innovation Network), these institutions were just one of 22 hospitals to receive the Premier Partnership for Patients HEN 2.0 Award for being in the top 10 percent of HEN 2.0 hospitals for total score based on the 11 harm areas.
Since September 2016, SCHA and Premier have co-led the South Carolina HIIN Affinity Group as part of a broader effort to transform our healthcare system into one that works better for the American people and for the Medicare program. We offer a hearty congratulation to the achievements of the winning hospitals for working hard to provide highly reliable care for patients across our state.
