McLeod Health holds Trauma Symposium Oct. 15

McLeod Health Hospital, in partnership with the Pee Dee Area Health Education Center (AHEC), is hosting a Trauma Symposium, Oct. 15 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in Florence, S.C. National and local experts will present at this one-day event, addressing the clinical management of the trauma patient beginning with pre-hospital resuscitation through acute care and rehabilitation. 

Following this symposium, attendees will be able to 1) examine contemporary clinical issues in life-threatening injuries in patients from the trauma environment; 2) identify emerging trends in the pre-hospital, medical, and nursing management of trauma patients; 3) discuss an organized approach to critical decision making in regard to trauma care issues; and 4) describe de-escalation techniques in crisis situations.

This event is for physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists, paramedics, EMTs, and other interested health care providers. CEU credits are offered.
