Is Your Facility Prepared for the Next Public Health Emergency?
Get prepared with the On the Safe Side toolkit.
On the Safe Side toolkit takes you step by step through organizing a plan and assessing your facility’s readiness to effectively manage the next public health emergency.
The toolkit was created by the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control – Region 7, Advanced Practice Center and its state and national partners.
On the Safe Side was developed to assist local hospitals, public health agencies and law enforcement in planning for and responding together to public health emergencies.
The toolkit is designed to give preparedness planners easy access to some of the materials they will need to:
- Develop hospital security and traffic management plans for medical surge and other emergency situations
- Develop a point of dispensing site security and traffic management plan
- Design and host a hospital and law enforcement workshop
- Design and host a hospital and law enforcement security based tabletop exercise
Download the On the Safe Side toolkit for free by visiting the NACCHO website. You must register on the NACCHO website to access the toolkit but this takes only a few moments and it is also free. You can also request a copy of the toolkit DVD by contacting APC Program Manager Ann Sports.
