Congressman Tom Rice Health Care Forum in Florence

Health care executives in South Carolina’s 7th Congressional District should mark their calendars for Monday, July 29 for a special discussion on health care policy with Congressman Tom Rice and Georgia Congressman Tom Price, MD. The forum will be hosted in the Palmetto Room of the Ervin Dining Hall at Francis Marion University from 1:00pm to 2:30pm.

Congressman Tom Rice is currently fulfilling his first term in the newly-created 7th Congressional district serving the Pee Dee and South Carolina coast. He will be joined by Congressman Tom Price who represents Georgia’s 6th Congressional district comprised of the northern suburbs of Atlanta, including parts of Cobb, DeKalb, and Fulton Counties.

For nearly twenty years, Rep. Price worked in private practice as an orthopedic surgeon.  Before heading to Washington he returned to Emory University School of Medicine as an Assistant Professor and Medical Director of the Orthopedic Clinic at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, teaching resident doctors in training.  He received his Bachelor and Doctor of Medicine degrees from the University of Michigan and completed his Orthopedic Surgery residency at Emory University.

A release from Congressman Rice’s office praised Price as a “vibrant leader, tireless problem solver and a go-to thinker on quality health care policy.” Congressmen Rice and Price will be touring Georgetown Memorial Hospital before the discussion on July 29 to gain more perspective on healthcare delivery in the 7th Congressional District.

More details on the event are attached. Please RSVP to John.Sweeney1@mail.house.gov no later than July 24 if you would like to participate in the forum.
