2019 National Hospital Week May 12-18

National Hospital Week, which occurs in the first full week of May each year, is an opportunity to celebrate the men and women who support the health and wellbeing of their communities. That includes the 92 hospitals in South Carolina, which aren’t just buildings filled with technology and equipment but also teams of compassionate professionals dedicated to providing quality care to their community.

Hospitals are an important part of our nation’s economy, with more than 5,000 facilities employing 16 million people across the country. That’s includes everyone from physicians, nurses and therapists to engineers, food service workers, administrators and more. In South Carolina, hospitals provide nearly 80,000 jobs and $4.8 billion in payroll and benefits, making them a major economic engine of the state.

We encourage you to use the https://www.aha.org/ahia/get-involved/national-hospital-week from the American Hospital Association to help get the word out about this celebration!
