The 91st SCHA Annual meeting - Going for the Gold in 2012

Online registration is now open for the 91st SCHA Annual meeting to be held January 26-27 at the Marriott in Columbia, SC. The meeting will provide the best and first opportunity for us to gather as a full membership to network, share and learn from experts in the field.

What role will health care play in the 21st Century? Lowell Catlett, PhD, will kick off the annual meeting with his presentation: Supercare: How Healthcare Dominates the 21st Century.  Lives saved, lives lived and communities invigorated - all part of the 21st century healthcare. Innovations in biology and performance metrics not only save lives that were once lost but helps others live lives free of depression, disease and physical pain. Longer and fuller lives transform every aspect of society - parents (not grandparents) at 60? College at 75? Retirement at 85? Healthcare as a major economic development force -17% of GDP in 2009 and the major employer of most communities under 50,000 in population. Far from the gloom and doom portrayed by many in recent months, 21st century healthcare is rapidly becoming the most important industry of the past 100 years.
