Amazing People Walk the Halls of South Carolina Hospitals

Every day, thousands of amazing people walk the halls of South Carolina hospitals. These hospital workers are making a difference in the lives of their patients and communities. Watch the story of these seven amazing people who demonstarted the commitment of tens of thousands of health care workers across the state.

2012 SCHA Board of Trustees

SCHA members elected the association's board of trustees for 2012 during the recent annual meeting in Columbia. Charles D. Beaman Jr., chief executive officer of Palmetto Health in Columbia, moves up from chairman-elect to assume the role of chairman of the board. Rich D’Alberto, FACHE, chief executive officer of Laurens County Health Care System in Laurens, was elected chairman-elect. David Dunlap, FACHE, chief executive officer of Roper St. Francis Healthcare will serve as immediate past chairman.

Working Well and South Carolina hospitals

2012 Lewis W. Blackman Patient Safety Champion Awards Program

The SCHA is accepting nominations for the 2012 Lewis W. Blackman Patient Safety Champion Awards Program to recognize individuals who have demonstrated exemplary dedication and leadership in advancing quality and safety of health care for patients of South Carolina. Nominations are being accepted in four categories: caregiver, health care executive or manager, advocate and student champion of patient safety.  These awards are given in honor of those individuals who strive to advance patient safety and health care quality for every patient in South Carolina.
