Data Update: Train for Success!
Over the last year, the Working Well team has collected data on hospital participation in the project, including assessments, site visits, and participation in trainings both in person and online. Analysis of the data available on training reveals that there is a significant association between attending trainings and reassessing and grade improvement.
About 50% of engaged hospitals regularly participate in trainings. The greater the number of trainings attended the more likely it is that a hospital reassesses.
What’s more is that there also a positive strong association between trainings and grade improvement on reassessment. Grades in nutrition, physical activity and tobacco free modules improved with greater attendance at trainings, including webinars, which provided participants with a better understanding of Working Well and the resources available to participating initiatives.
Given the success of these trainings, in 2012, Working Well hospitals will be able to participate in several webinar series designed to increase their ability to develop policies, environments and benefits related to tobacco use, nutrition and physical activity. You can go ahead and register for upcoming webinars focused on using data and planning for policy change.
