Safe Surgery 2015: South Carolina Team Training - Florence
As part of the Safe Surgery 2015: South Carolina initiative we are offering hospitals an opportunity to attend an OR Team Training Course that has specifically been developed to improve communication in the operating room. This is the first of two offerings of this program. This will be held at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence SC. Lunch will be provided.
These sessions will serve as a "train the trainer" course and participants will learn how to apply this curriculum in your operating rooms. This course will specifically focus on using the South Carolina Surgical Safety Checklist as a teamwork tool, closed loop communication, speaking up, and coaching in the operating room. We ask that you consider sending members of your checklist implementation team or their designees to one of these trainings. We encourage you to send multiple people to this training including, but not limited to, anesthesiologists, CRNAs, nurses, scrub techs, and surgeons. Participants will be eligible to receive CME and CEU credits.
This course is being offered at no cost, however, participants will be responsible for their travel expenses.
