SCHA engages in advocacy at the state and federal levels on behalf of its member hospitals and the communities they serve. The government relations program includes developing and advancing SCHA's legislative agenda; drafting and providing testimony on bills before the General Assembly and regulations before state agencies; tracking bills and other matter of interest to members; building and maintaining relationships with legislators and members of the executive branch of government; and coordinating with the American Hospital Association hospitals' response on federal issues.
